Profiles

The WiFi module manages guest internet access through a login page (the "captive"). Golden rule: 1 network profile = 1 WiFi access = 1 button on the portal page. Here you create the profiles; the page guests see is customised in the "Portal page" guide.

Creating a network profile

You can have several profiles (e.g. "Guests", "Staff", "Meeting room"), each with different rules and required data.

Opening the Profiles section

From the menu go to WiFi → Profiles: the list of network profiles opens. For each one you see the name and access mode, duration, pricing, status and actions.

  • Status - the toggle turns the profile on or off. A profile that is off does not appear as a button on the portal page.
  • Actions - Info (summary), Edit, Duplicate (creates a disabled copy) and Delete (not reversible).

Creating a new profile

Click New profile: the form opens, with the Profile and Translations tabs and the Save button.

General

  • Profile name - the internal name, for your own use (e.g. "Hotel guests"). Required.
  • Duration - how long the access is valid: quick values (1h, 2h, 4h, 8h, 24h, 48h) or Custom in hours. It runs from the moment it is issued.
  • Pricing - Free (the Paid option is not available yet).
  • Access mode - Self-service (the WhatsApp option is not available yet).

Portal page button

  • Icon - an icon from the library or an uploaded image (square, ~256×256px, max 5MB; the image takes precedence).
  • Button title - the main label (e.g. "Log in").
  • Description - a line below the title (optional).

Data collection

Choose which data to ask the guest for. Each field has three states: No, Optional, Required. Available: First and last name (also separately), Email, Phone, Gender, Country, Reason for visit, Room number.

?  The Room number is not free text: the guest must select an existing room from those registered (see the Settings - Unit Management guide).

Protection

With Protect access with a password the guest has to type a password (a shared one that you set and that stays visible). The Ignore uppercase/lowercase option makes the check less strict.

Consents

Three configurable consents, each with its own text: Privacy consent (on by default; if you collect data it is required by law), Marketing consent and a free third consent (e.g. third parties).

Additional fields

Extra fields beyond the standard ones: for each one choose the type (Text, Date, Number, Choice), the label and whether it is Required. You drag them to reorder; for the Choice type you add the possible values.

Saving and activating

Click Save, then from the list use the Status toggle to activate the profile: only then will it appear as a button on the portal page.

Translating the profile

In the Translations tab you translate the profile texts (button title/description, consents, field labels). Choose the language, click Translate all fields (AI) or write them by hand; each translation has a badge (AI translated / Edited) and you can use Restore AI. The languages to show to the guest are chosen from the portal page (Part 2).
